Where do discernment and discerning gifts fall in the prophetic gift order?

1 Corinthians 12:7-11
"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines."
Regarding discernment, some people are intuitive prior to salvation but it can only be perfected through Christ. Examples of discernment are
- what kind of gifts does a person have
- what kind of future does this child has
- the spiritual atmosphere weather good or bad
- this person is safe/this person is not safe
- knowing a lie from the truth
Discernment is a starting point for the prophetic. It's something to build on. So how do we incorporate discernment into the prophetic? Sometimes you can discern a certain issue without having Gods perspective on it. For example, if you discern that someone has sin in their life God is not necessarily saying that to you. The discernment is a starting point to ask God questions - "What do you want me to do with this God?"
This will open you up into a realm of conversations you can have with people that you could not otherwise have. If you discern breakthrough in someone's career you can share it and it will give them hope. It will turn into prophecy. If you feel oppression the Lord might say "pray about it" or "declare against it" or "address it head on."
Many words are giving and they are discernment without resolution.
For example - “There is going to be an. Earthquake” - that helps nobody. That could mean the plates are shifting and this could happen with no prayer but you just went with “there’s going toe an earthquake" and it ended there. Utilize the discernment as a bridge into the prophetic.
