What is the safest way to introduce the prophetic into the church that is new to the prophetic?
If you're the pastor or leader it works well to introduce the prophetic in the context of a prayer ministry team. Train your team to pray with prophetic intention to hear Gods voice for the people around them. Instruct them to prophecy with basic encouragement rather than giving words of specific direction and influence.Build from there as they are learning.
Another way is to start a prophetic nurture group. This is an intentional group friends from the region or local church. If you are not the pastor of the church remember always ask permission to do this. Use a book that teaches on the prophetic like a study guide, talk about the process, practice and pray for each other. In our experience prophetic nurture groups have caused people to grow quicker than any other avenues, even more than after church study groups. Always remember not to let it be about you - allow other people to do it. If it’s all about you then people will not try. Be encouraging throughout the process. Highlight both when things are good and when things doing work out gently. For example "A for effort!"
